Our technology

State-of-the-art sensors and software

State-of-the-art sensors and software — from terrain survey to finished point cloud. Our technology captures 1.3 million measurement points per second and generates millimeter-accurate 3D mesh models. Combined with 360° 4K panoramic images, you receive seamless digital documentation of your sewer infrastructure — evaluable on-site and integrable into your BIM/GIS systems. We support all common output formats: ISYBAU XML, DWAM150, TV-Kandis, EuroDSS, DXF, and others. Condition assessment is carried out in accordance with DIN 1986-30 and DIN EN 13508-2.

Questions and Answers on our Technology

Questions and easily understood answers about our technology

Which measurement technologies does Kuchler Geomatics use for precise 3D measurements?

Kuchler Geomatics relies on modern terrestrial LiDAR scanners and powerful UAV systems for precise 3D surveys. The terrestrial LiDAR scanners capture even the smallest details with an accuracy of ±1 cm. The Flyability Elios 3 with optional surveying payload and Ouster OS0-128 Rev 7 LiDAR is used for areas that are difficult to access. This allows channels, shafts, culverts and other structures to be documented without contact. In addition, high-resolution 4K image data is captured to create a visual basis for inspection and evaluation.

How does the drone-based inspection of difficult-to-access structures work at Kuchler Geomatics?

The drone-based inspection is carried out using unmanned aerial vehicles, which are particularly suitable for areas that are difficult to access. With the Flyability Elios 3, areas such as sewers, shafts and culverts can be surveyed safely and without contact. Depending on the operational environment, high-resolution image data and detailed LiDAR point clouds are generated. The optional surveying payload enables the acquisition of high-density point clouds with up to 1.3 million data points per second. This creates a reliable data basis for documentation, analysis and further planning or inspection steps.

What data formats does Kuchler Geomatics provide after LiDAR and UAV surveying?

The captured data is comprehensively analyzed in the company's own data processing system and converted into common output formats. These include LAS, LAZ, IFC, DXF, DWG, RVT and GeoTIFF. This allows the results to be flexibly integrated into existing planning, BIM or GIS processes. Kuchler Geomatics ensures that customers receive the data in the format that meets their specific requirements. From the terrain survey to the finished point cloud, the entire process is implemented in a technically clean and user-oriented manner.

For which applications is LiDAR 3D detection with Flyability Elios 3 and Ouster Rev 7 LiDAR suitable?

LiDAR 3D detection is particularly suitable for hard-to-reach and sensitive areas where non-contact documentation is required. These include canals, shafts, culverts and other structures that can only be reached to a limited extent using conventional methods. With the Flyability Elios 3 and the Ouster OS0-128 Rev 7 LiDAR, high-density point clouds and 4K image data can be captured in a single operation. This improves data depth and creates a reliable basis for inspection and as-built surveys. Even large-scale surveys can be carried out efficiently and cost-effectively with the UAV systems used.

How does Kuchler Geomatics support the evaluation of damage, anomalies and geometries?

The recorded LiDAR 3D data and 4K image data can be evaluated with software support in order to record damage, anomalies and geometries in a structured manner. This turns pure data collection into a reliable basis for inspection, documentation and reporting. The processed information can also be prepared for reports in accordance with relevant regulations such as DIN EN 13508-2. In this way, customers benefit from comprehensible and standard-compliant data evaluation. The combination of precise recording and professional data processing ensures reliable results in demanding projects.

Why Kuchler Geomatics technology for LiDAR 3D surveying and drone-based inspection?

Kuchler Geomatics combines modern measurement technologies with precise data acquisition and professional analysis from a single source. The company uses highly developed terrestrial LiDAR scanners, powerful UAV systems and the Flyability Elios 3 with optional surveying payload and Ouster Rev 7 LiDAR.
